The Local Renewables Freiburg 2012 Conference

The Local Renewables Freiburg 2012 Conference, taking place in Freiburg, Germany from 25 - 26 October 2012, will focus on the combination of locally generated renewable energy, smart grids and smart end-users looking at examples of urban-regional cooperation approaches to find funding, connect energy supply to demand points and overcome the challenges of minimising energy loss in the systems.

This event is part of a conference series launched in 2007 and explores the different sources of local renewable solutions in order to promote sustainability at a regional and local level.

The conference will examine the evolving role of information and communication technologies (ICT) for the development of a low-carbon and 100% renewable community providing a valuable opportunity for policy-makers, representatives from European institutions, energy service providers, experts and other interested professionals to share their views and knowledge on how to achieve the vision of an efficient central management of the decentralised production of
energy. The event is organised in cooperation with the city of Freiburg, which is internationally recognised for its leading role in the environmental field.
